If you ever parented an animal you would know how it is so rewarding and almost equivalent to parenting a human baby. In times of crisis, a pet parent tends to think exactly like mothers would and that is what happened with this woman too.

NICOLE AND ASTRO

Nicole Graham, a woman living near Melbourne Australia owns 10 horses. One day, she and her daughter Paris decided to go riding in the afternoon. That is when the incident occured!

THE INCIDENT!

While riding on the beach, the horses both fell prey to the sinking sand on the beach. Unable to retain themselves in the quagmire, the horses started sinking in slowly. While Nicole was able to successfully rescue her daughters horse, her own, Astro was posing a bigger problem!

THE PROBLEM!

Astro, Nicole's horse weighs 900 LB which practically was becoming a big issue for Nicole to help him out with. For over 3 hours he continued to sink into the quagmire, slowly losing hope and patience!

THE RESCUE!

Nicole sat by the horse and kept him company, keeping her calm and ensuring Astro kept his. She continued to stay there till after 3 hours help arrived.Astro was sedated while a harness was attached to him so a tractor could pull him out.

ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

The terrifying incident ended in no time and it was only then that the horse and Nicole both breathed a sigh of relief. "It was terrifying. It was also heartbreaking to see my horse exhausted and struggling. I’ve been riding here for 20 years and never had a drama. I’ve never seen any signs and didn’t realize it was so boggy."

THE VIDEO!

Vet Stacy Sullivan said, "A lot of horses don’t make it and I think without the owner there the chance of survival would have been a lot lower."
