Many people believe that acting is a well-paying job that requires actors to memories a few lines, get their makeup done, and then take their big fat paycheque home after a few months of labor. They might get lucky and win the most prestigious Hollywood awards, bringing them future fame and money. Some even believe that if these performers can do it, they can do it elegantly. Being a Holly star, however, is not as simple as many people believe. Several challenges, including a brush with death, are certain to arise while performers are filming. Many Hollywood stars have died while filming in the past. And Paul Walker is a prime example. Accidents might occur in such unexpected and unpredictable ways that no one can ensure the safety of the performers. As a result, stunt performers who conduct dangerous situations for actors are critical members of a film production.

Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible – Fallout)

Since beginning his professional career, Tom Cruise has had multiple near-death experiences. One of them is shown in a sequence in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He almost died while filming a classic helicopter sequence.

In that incident, Cruise was forced to let go of a chopper. Later, he was thrown onto the cargo hoisted by it. Despite wearing a safety belt, the stunt was dangerous and could have killed the actor.

Johnny Depp (The Lone Ranger)

Johnny Depp narrowly avoided death when filming The Lone Ranger. The actor was stomped and dragged for over 30 yards through the desert after falling from a racing horse. Fortunately, the actor was not seriously injured.

Gore Verbinski, the director, told the New York Post that Johnny Depp was one of the scariest accidents he'd ever seen.

Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future Part III)

Michael J. Fox nearly died while playing Marty McFly in the Back to the Future franchise. When Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen hanged his character, he was clearly gasping.

Fox was hung by a noose for real since his hands were misplaced during the prank. And the video team didn't notice the unfortunate situation until he passed unconscious for about 30 seconds.

Jackie Chan (Armour of God)

Jackie Chan is constantly eager to perform his stunts. While filming Armour of God, he jumped from a wall to a tea branch that snapped, resulting in a five-meter fall. His head collided with a rock, breaking his skull and necessitating emergency surgery.

Chan has a small hearing loss in one of his ears as a result of the disastrous prank, as well as a permanent hole in his head associated with a plastic plug.

Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games)

Jennifer Lawrence was on the point of death during filming the first part of The Hunger Games due to a defective fog machine.

Unfortunately, the fog machine malfunctioned, resulting in dense smoke that obscured the cast members. All of the actors, including Lawrence, began coughing violently but narrowly avoided suffocation.

Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now)

Apocalypse Now was recognised as one of the films most notorious for its difficult production. The tough shooting conditions took their toll on starring man Martin Sheen, who suffered a nervous breakdown and a near-fatal heart attack while on set.

"I utterly disintegrated. My spirit had been revealed. I sobbed uncontrollably. My eyes, my beard, everything had turned grey. "I was in critical care," Sheen revealed. Sheen was forced to take a six-week break, and his brother Joe Estevez stepped in as a replacement.
