Card payments have become extremely normal in this new world. We like doing things virtually and card payments also give us a certain security to our money. But here are certain things you must know if you are a frequent card payer.

LED Is Blocked

Whenever paying with your card, look for the LED on top corner of the console. An attachable skimmer also blocks the green LED light that should be on when the terminal scans a card. You don't wanna lose unnecessary money, do you?

Buttons Are Not Hiighlighted

This doesn't necessarily means that your vendor is trying to cheat you. Sometimes it just means that the terminal is too old and chances of payment failing are more here. So you surely don't wanna take that risk.

Skimming terminal is significantly larger than normal

One of the most principle features to avoid any fraud activity is the feature of larger and wider skimming terminal. A skimmer should be longer and wider than the terminal itself to correspond to its size. If that is not the case, you must immediately get suspicious.

Consistent Operation Errors

If a payment is being failed more than twice back to back, just change the mode of payment. Chances are, you may face some loss if you continue to try paying via your card.

No Stylus Is Attached

This should be alarming as well. All payment terminals have a stylus attached to them that clients use to enter their signature after their card has been scanned. In case there is a Skimmer inside, it won't let a stylus to be attached. So remember to see a stylus attached.

You Don't Get A Message

All of us have our message to transactions on. In case you don't, immediately do it. After making a transaction, if you don't get a message instantly, there is something wrong. Recheck the transaction with your vendor.
