One of the most important thing in our modern world is roadways! Roads connect us to different places that facilitates trade. But there are so many roads in our world which are super dangerous and yet people use them! Here are some of them!

Taroko Gorge Road (Taiwan)

Let's start our list with Taroko Gorge Road in Taiwan. Due to the spectacular beauty of its surroundings, the road is well frequented in spite of its fearsome reputation. It is a challenge to maintain this road due to heavy rainfall and typhoons that often cause landslides and rockslides that leave sections of the road impassable.

99-Bend Road to Heaven (China)

Let's come to a side from Taiwan to China. Given the size of this country, it is only obvious that this place is gonna have a lot of dangerous roads as well. One of the most dangerous one is though 99-Bend Road to Heaven. Located in Tianmen Mountain National Park in central China, the 99-Bend Road to Heaven features—you guessed it—99 death-defying hairpin turns constructed hundreds of feet in the air. If you went off the road in such places, you’d surely die in a fiery crash.

Pan American Highway (Alaska to Chile)

The Pan-American Highway is a network of roads, extending from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina. By no means is it safe entirely. Certainly, a dangerous section of the PAH winds through Mexico and Central America, where drug cartel terrorists roam. Humans are a bigger problem than nature at this one!

James Dalton Highway (Alaska)

Here's another one in Alaska. Also known as the North Slope Hall Road, the James Dalton Highway is a road used by truckers, especially those who travel to and from the Prudhoe Bay oil fields on the north slope of Alaska. It’s advised that anyone traveling the road should bring survival gear and plenty of supplies. Weather can get rowdy and things can get really crazy.

Kishtwar Road

In the Jammu region of India lies a road that connects Kishtwar to Gulabgarh. This road is definitely not for the faint-hearted. A terrifying mountainous trail is exposed on one side by an unfathomable gorge. Accidents are a regular sight here!

Sichuan-Tibet Highway (China)

Here's another one in China. This very long highway connects Chengdu in Sichuan with Lhasa in Tibet, through an area known as Kham. needless to say, this is not a safe road by any means. Rockslides, mudslides, avalanches, hairpin turns, cliffs are just few scares on this one. thousands of people have lost their lives here!
