German - Smashing Dishes

Lets start with a fun ritual that all of us would like to follow to be honest. So German people break dishes after their loved one gets married. The relatives of the bride and groom gather in front of the couple's home and smash every breakable dishes and stuff to bring good luck for the couple.



China - Crying For One Month

Now here's an extremely weird tradition that few communities in China follow. Tuija people in China have this tradition were the bride starts crying with the start of the full month before the wedding and soon her mother joins in and within 10 days her grandmother joins them and just like that, the whole month becomes a crying fest.

Romania - Keeping The Bride Hostage

Now what kind of tradition is this you may wonder? Well, it is an extremely fun one tbh! The relatives keep the bride hostage in a hotel room until the groom bargain it with a bottle of wine or with the declaration of love in front of the audience. Now you wish they do this in your wedding as well, right?



Scotland - Blackening Of The Bride And Groom

Before we describe it for yo, we would like to give you a heads up! This is truly disgusting! In Scotland, the couple has to literally bear with a tradition in which people throw numerous things on them like flour, soot, custard etc! They are also blackened and bound to parade all over the town. Crazy!

India - Robbing Groom's Shoes

This one in fact is an extremely popular tradition in north of India. Sisters and cousins of the bride steal groom's shoes and return it to him in the end of the ceremony in exchange of some cash!



China - Shoving Arrow On Bride

Fake arrows are shot towards the bride three times in a row and after that, the groom collects the fallen arrow and break it down. Yugar people in China follow this tradition.
