These days, we have the freedom to choose our own style. People no longer always dress in traditional attire, and the rules are not as rigorous as they once were. But can you envision what a "yearbook" would have looked like a century ago? For some of these people, the school didn't even exist! Lets look at how teenagers of few countries looked like about 100 years ago.
Japan
Many of us are aware of Japanese kimonos. In the 1880s, as the government started to promote western-style attire, school uniforms started to decline. But you’ll still see the adults and elderly wear their traditional clothing at home as that’s what they’re more comfortable with. The "sailor uniforms" were their most recognizable attire because they were simple to construct and thought to be adorable.
Poland And Estonia
Teenagers in Estonia were caught off surprise by this because we DO NOT SUPPORT SMOKING, but man, these chicks were on fire. And to think that this dates back to about a century ago? The Estonian good girl feeling, with her simple and exquisite full-body garment, is the complete opposite.
India
Indian women continue to wear saris in modern times. But not all Indian women back then could vibe like this one right here! They didn't appear to find anything wrong with the man, even though he was dressed in a suit and shorts.
Russia
The Russians are very aware of how fantastic they appear in these photos. The males enjoy wearing uniforms, while the women wore brown skirts with high collars and immaculate hairstyles. At the time, they deemed that to be cool.
Italy
The Italians still maintain the same level of beauty that their Roman forefathers did. However, the 20th century also saw the rise of Italian fashion designers like Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel.
Algeria
People in Algeria were still donning the customary draped-around-the-body headgear.
