Titanic was not just an iconic movie but also an incident that impacted many lives. Over 1500 people sank to death on 15th April, 1912. This incident from about 108 years ago, yet gives us all some shivers worth of memories. That was the impact. Some of who survived that day, lived to tell their tale and it is shocking!
RICHARD NORIS WILLIAMS!
Richard and his father were traveling together in the Titanic. He used to be a tennis player at that time. However, on that eventful day,his father drowned to death. Richard however, managed to get onboard a boat and float to safety. He got home and got into the banking industry. The horror of the night continued to haunt him till his death!
DOROTHY GIBSON!
She was a young actress aboard the ship with her mother when the ship began to sink. She got into boat no. 7. Soon they realized that their boat had a hole in it. They soon covered it with their clothes. She even later went on to act in a film regarding the same. She wore the same clothes as she did on that eventful day!
VIOLET JESSUP!
Violet was a stewardess on the Titanic. When it began to sink, she played by her intelligence and managed to save herself from drowning. In her life, she has been part of 3 shipwrecks and surprisingly has survived all of them!
MICHAEL AND EDMOND!
These kids were too little and offsprings of seperated parents. The father, pretending to be a widower, got the kids on board the ship but in fact was running away with the kids without telling the mother. When the ship sank, he put the kids on a boat with a letter for his wife. It took a while for the mother to find the kids but she did once she saw their image in a newspaper!
MASABUMI HOSONO
He was the only Japanese passenger on that ship. With much struggle, he managed to sneak himself on a boat and rowed to safe shores. But he was ridiculed once he reached his country. He was shamed because he acted selfishly and even ended up losing his job!
NOEL LESLIE!
Noel Leslie has been credited with steering the boat to safety. She was called the hero of Titanic since she helped bring the boat back to the shore. Among the varied stories from that night, Leslie pointed out one where she had to comfort a newlywed woman who had lost her husband to the crash!
