There is no dearth of rip offs and fakes in this world and if you look at the fashion industry, most things are easily ripped off and sold as fakes in many markets. Reason? Well affordability. But even in the high end markets, sometimes we are misleaded by sellers. Here is how you can find out if the product you are buying is real or fake?
INFORMATION ON THE PACKAGE!
The information published on the packaging of these perfumes is usually stuff that is available on their website. Sometimes however, there are some differences and that should be warning enough for you to realize that the product is not authentic!
FLAWLESS SEAM!
Perfumes that are originals will be packed with utmost care and finesse. Yes, even the seams on the packaging will be neat and almost invisible. If you see a haphazard packing and thready seams, know that it is fake!
SYMMETRY MATTERS!
Symmetry is of utmost importance while gauging a product from its fake. In perfumes, you can do a quick check of the cover and figure this out. All original luxury products work on actual symmetry.
BOTTLES!
Rough edges on bottles is a clear sign of it being a rip off and its your cue to walk out of the store right away. It is easy to replicate fragrances, but it is very difficult to replicate finesse and quality!
PAPERBOARD!
Color and quality of the paperboard matters. Its only job is to keep the bottle intact and "held" for a long time. So naturally this cardboard / paperboard has to be built out of good quality material. Another way to recognize it is the color - white is good, greyish / faded means its a fake!
WRAPPING CHECK!
Ever seen the cellophane that sticks tightly to the box? Well if the wrapped cellophane is flawed or inverted then its definitely a fake. It could also be torn or damaged in someway and that's how you get to know that its a counterfeit too!
