8 Smart But Fake Photos That Fooled Every Person Online

Pictures tell a thousand words. But what if everything these pictures are telling you are lies? Sometimes people use the internet to propagate all kinds of lies and slander. Many users end up believing them to be true and fall prey to these fallacies. That is exactly what happened in these 8 cases.

GRAFFITI IN WATER!

This image took the internet by storm when it came out. Located in Mariampol, Lithuania, this image was created by Street Artist Ray Bartkus who purposely drew the image upside down so it looks clear in water, but there is a slight catch!

REALITY!

In reality, the whole scenary looks like this.

While the artist expected a clear image of his art to be seen in water, it is only possible if the surface is completely clear and absolutely no wind. Such situations seldom occur, so here we are left with just expectation of something totally random on the internet!

A LYNX AND A FAWN SEEK SHELTER WITH EACH OTHER!

Someone posted this image of a lynx and a fawn huddled together under an office table in California. When it was first posted in 2009, the caption read: A fawn and a bobcat cub found under a desk in an office building after the California forest fire rolled through!

Turns out, they had more than just the camaraderie going.

REALITY!

This image is practically used every single time there is a fire in the US. The original image is from 2009 May though, and while the caption is always different, each time its posted, the reality is that the picture was taken during California's 2009 fire. The building is owned by non-commercial team of animal rescuers. They were low on cages so these two animals found respite near each other!

A TYPICAL DAY IN RUSSIA!

This image was shocking to a lot of Russians who saw this and stared out in disbelief. Turns out, there was something slightly fishy about this whole polar bear stepping out of a bus situation!

The "Bear" was indeed two Greenpeace activists in costume doing a rounds of their Save the Arctic campaign. The bear would walk around across most European cities to attract attention to the problems in the Arctic!

A GOOSE FROZE TO A PIPE, BUT KEPT THE PUPPY WARM!

There is absolutely no truth to this. This image has been shared on Chinese sites since 2017 March and it has often been posted with a lot of varied captions. Since there is no way to track who first posted it and if there was any authenticity to their caption, this remains a mystery as to why the goose and puppy were in an embrace and who really was protecting whom!

WHAT HAPPENED TO A RAINFOREST OVER 10 YEARS!

This image has been overused on the internet to bring to notice urbanization, deforestation and climate change woes. This image was posted by WWF to bring light to these crippling issues. However the reality is totally different!

REALITY!

Turns out this photo is not really a collage but actually a photo from a Malaysian rainforest where part of the forest was cleared to grow palm trees. Instead of becoming a 10 year challenge, if only people would have posted the reality of the picture sooner!

PARIS NEW YEAR!

This image of Paris's New Years is phenomenal and it almost makes it seem like its out of this world and brilliant. But the reality is not this enchanting!

REALITY!

Firstly, all the fireworks in the above image seem to be at the exact same distance from the camera. In Paris, there are multiple fireworks launched on New years and even residents of this city claim that this above image can never be true. In fact, the reality looks a whole lot different!

CRUISE DUMPS WASTE IN THE SEA!

This cruise ship from Uruguay was anchoring itself when the image was clicked from an aircraft flying overhead. The National Environmental Director of the country had to make a public statement saying the ship was merely starting its turbines to anchor, when the sludge and sand from below showed up. So much for a Facebook post going viral!

MAN TOSSES RICE PERFECTLY!

This may just be the funniest fake photo there is. This was considered to be such a cool thing to do when this boy's image went viral. Turns out, he is not really "that" skilled!

REALITY!

Turns out the man actually purchased something called Giga Wave, a product readily available in the fake foods stores in Tokyo. Posing really well, worked out wonders for this dude!
