Our world is strange and full of mysteries. Some of the biggest mysteries though, lie behind many walls of security and protection. These 8 places are the most heavily secure places in the world. They may look "normal" or "regular" from the outside but the reality is something totally different!
ADX PRISON
Most of you know that it is home to some of the most wanted people in the world. If you are destined to see hell on earth, they say you will go to ADX prison. Situated in Florence, Colorado, USA, this prison is one of the most secure locations in the world. Over 400 inmates are enclosed within these gates and no one has been able to escape it yet. Must be some place, eh?
HAVENCO
Have you heard of the 2000's company HavenCo? It was located off the coast of Suffolk, South East England in a place called Sealand which is like a micronation that claims land rights over a port - fort built during the World War II. The company ceased all activities in 2008, quite secretly. While it existed, it was known as the most secure data collecting unit in the world. Obviously it was called Data Haven for a reason!
IRON MOUNTAIN
Founded in 1951, Iron Mountain is USA's most secretive Information agency. It's 1.7 Million square feet of vaults are the most secure systems to get through. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, the agency is best known for its records management, information destruction, and data backup and recovery services. The agency has over 220,000 customers all over the world, including 94% of Fortune 1000 companies!
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
The Central Banking system of USA, The Federal Reserve Bank, was founded in 1913. Over a century (and more) later, needless to say, this bank happens to be one of the most secure places in the world. Housing over a quarter of the world's entire gold reserves and high unit vaults that are over 80 feet below street level (i.e 50 feet below sea level), this place is as intriguing as it can get.
FORT KNOX
Fort Knox is an American Army post in Kentucky. Spreading over 109,000 acres, this base houses the Army Human Resources Centre of Excellence to include the Army Human Resources Command. Named in the honor of Henry Knox, Chief of Artillery in the American Revolutionary War and first United States Secretary of War.Until 2011, the centre was the Army training school for the US Army Armour Center. Needless to say, it is one of the most secure places in the world!
AREA 51
Situated in Nevada within the Test and Training Range, this United States Air Force Facility is officially called Groom Lake, after the salt flat located near it. Acquired in 1955 by the government of USA, very little is known about the space, including its activities. Due to its fierce security standing, the site is a popular base for conspiracy theories, including one with UFO's in them!
