No Public Transport

How would you feel if you are kept away from public transport options in your country because of your gender? Well, this is what is happening with women in Saudi.

They are allowed to travel into trains but that's about it. It has to be a private car taking them around as most of the other means of public transports do not allow women in them!



Mahram Compulsory

It is compulsory for Saudi women to always go out with her husband or a male relative. The women in Saudi Arabia don’t have the right to go anywhere without them. This male person who accompanies a woman is called a Mahram.

No Driver's License

Yes, there is no driver's license for women in Saudi Arabia. This information will soon be a myth though. In recent years, in the Persian Gulf countries, a series of laws have been passed aimed at the liberalization of women.



Covering The Body

Another bizarre compulsion for women in Saudi is covering their complete body in public. When on the street, women in Saudi Arabia cover their entire bodies, leaving only the oval of the face, her hands, and feet open. The country is anyways very hot. How do women survive their?

So it is very complicated in Saudi. Women do not have to follow the dress code in the house but they can only stay in their side of the house. Guests cannot come in their side, they can only come in the other side of the house. Wow! And No, they wouldn't answer the door.
