She Donated Her Kidney to Save Him

In 2016, Colleen Le was 24 and living in California when she decided to donate one of her kidneys to her boyfriend. His chronic kidney disease had caused his kidney function to fall below 5%. Colleen made the decision because she loved him and wanted to give him a chance at a healthier life.

Months Later, He Admitted He Cheated

About seven months after the surgery, her boyfriend returned from a bachelor party in Las Vegas and confessed that he had cheated on her. Colleen was hurt, but she chose to forgive him and give their relationship another chance. About three months later, he broke up with her, reportedly saying, “If we are meant for each other, God will bring us back together in the end.” He then blocked her on social media and stopped communicating with her. Colleen also said he told her she “only donated her kidney to look good.”

She Says She Still Has No Regrets

Despite the painful ending, Colleen says she does not regret donating her kidney. “Saving someone's life... I could never regret that. It still feels good,” she said.
