Every country has its own strange traditions and beliefs. While for most people who do not know about these particular cultures, it may seem a little off the beaten path, but having said that, these traditions have their own legacies and reasons.

LIVE GODDESS!

Nepal is known to worship Live Goddesses. The Nepalese believe in reincarnation and that the Mother Goddess dwells within one of them. So with the help of astrologists and monks, they search for the child within different communities. Once found, she is worshipped!



MARRYING A TREE!

Practiced in India by a lot of traditional communities is the practice of Tree Marriage. Indians largely believe in astrology and superstitions. The tree marriage practice also stems from the same so as to avoid discrepancies in the actual marriage. It is strange, but it is also very true!

APARTMENT OR TRAIN STATION?

Asian countries usually come up with a lot of quirky ideas especially when it comes to infrastructure. Take for instance this monorail path in China. It literally passes through the 6th floor of a building and if anything, is a weird, scary concept that is largely accepted by the locals!

This for once is not strange but super economical and eco-friendly, if we can say so! People living in Asia along coastal towns usually practice two kinds of food traditions - Rice and Fish curries, and eating on Plantain leaves. Traditionally speaking, this could have started because it was just abundantly available. Today ofcourse most important ceremonies would feature the same type of meal!

Now this is something we truly support. Most people end up assuming that fixing a nations problem is the responsibility of a select few people where that is not at all true.
