What is integrity? It is doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. This woman did just that not knowing what is about to happen with her. This is an interesting read for sure.

True Integrity

As mentioned earlier, integrity is doing the right thing possible no matter what. This incident that happened in 2017 is the perfect example of that. This is the kindness our world needs to survive right now.

Blind Man

Ryan Hamilton was watching the crowd pour out of Wrigley Field from his rooftop apartment. The Chicago Cubs game had just ended, and fans were lining the street. This is the precise moment when he noticed one fan wearing a Cubs jersey who was standing by himself for a while.

So what next? That man was holding a cane, and trying, unsuccessfully, to hail a cab. There was no one around him to help him.

No Helpers

Ryan kept looking at the man and hundreds of passerby who avoided him. Nobody came forward to help him even after knowing very well what he wants to do.

That was when Casey Spelman of Indianapolis spotted the man and decided to give him a hand. “I didn’t really think much of it at the time,” Spellman said. “It was after a Cubs game and it was still pretty crowded. I thought, ‘Man, it’s going to take him a while.'”

The Help

Realizing that no one was going to offer this man assistance, Casey jumped in to help. Ryan Hamilton started taking photos of this random act of kindness, as he watched it unfold.

“Do you want some help getting a cab?” Spelman asked.

“He said, ‘Yeah, you sound pretty, so cabs will probably stop for you before me,'” Spelman recalled Dale joking.

The Kindness

The man was identified as Yusef Dale, an assistant US Attorney in Chicago. Yusef and Casey spent the next few minutes talking about baseball and their love of the Cubs before a taxi eventually stopped. When the cab came, they hugged each other good bye. This is the kindness that our world needs. This is precisely what we need.
