Anyone who has ever experienced being fired from a job is aware of how traumatizing the event can be. Even worse is when you get to know that your job may soon be replaced. And acting is a job with little job security in the entertainment industry. As a result, even after landing the role, our favorite performers frequently get fired and replaced. This demonstrates that getting a high-profile movie role doesn't definitely mean you'll end up in it.
Julianne Moore V/S Melissa McCarty, "can you ever forgive me?"
Despite being selected to play the movie "Can You Ever Forgive Me lead role! Creative disagreements led to Julianne Moore's termination. That started off badly, but after Melissa McCarthy was brought on board, things started to turn around. It's hard to imagine what Julianne Moore would have looked like in the role. McCarthy garnered an Oscar nomination, and the movie received positive reviews.
James Purefoy vs Hugo Weaving, “V for Vendetta”
Purefoy had already been filming "V for Vendetta" for a month when he decided to abandon the project. Since he couldn't act in the movie while wearing his mask, he provided this justification. That was a significant setback for the director, who maintained Purefoy's scenes in the finished product but switched him out for Hugo Weaving. Reshooting everything would have taken too much time, so that was done.
Harvey Keitel vs Martin Sheen, “Apocalypse Now”
Francis Ford Coppola sacked Harvey Keitel as the lead actor in "Apocalypse Now" because he didn't think the actor was suitable for the part. Keitel didn't appear to be at ease while filming in the woods, according to Coppola. There is no animosity between the two guys, despite Keitel having stated that he wasn't terrified of being in the bush. Martin Sheen was hired to replace Harvey Keitel, and Coppola still believes that this was the finest decision for the picture.
Anne Hathaway vs Katherine Heigl, “Knocked Up”
The stars in the movie "Knocked Up" were cast as Anne Hathaway and Seth Rogen. She objected, however, to the decision to use actual film of a woman giving birth in order to convey the impression that she is doing it. She therefore made the decision to abandon the endeavor. Despite Kate Bosworth and Jennifer Love Hewitt's tryouts, Katherine Heigl ultimately won the part.
Dougray Scott vs Hugh Jackman, “X-Men”
Dougray Scott was supposed to play Wolverine in the first "X-Men" movie back in 2000. Tom Cruise put the breaks on him because he was already filming "Mission Impossible 2" and sought to squeeze him into both movies. Scott claimed that it was Cruise's refusal to let him play Wolverine, not an injury, that prohibited him from doing so. Hugh Jackman, who was excellent in the role, eventually took over.
Megan Fox vs Rosie Huntington-Whiteley,
After telling the public that "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" director Michael Bay was a nightmare to work with, Megan Fox was fired from the project in 2009. When she refused to apologize, the producers had to find a replacement. She hasn't expressed regret for what she said about Michael Bay, but she now realizes that she shouldn't have acted that way at the time. In the movie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley took her place.
