There is no doubt that our dependence on the computers, laptops or mobiles has increased a lot and it won’t be far fetched to say that our lives are in fact revolving around them now. This has put a lot of stress on our eyes as working constantly on our tablets and pc’s affects them a lot and many people are suffering from eye diseases at a very tender age. Use of spectacles by school-going kids is a pretty common thing now and it is also giving rise to other problems. One such problem that a person may face is color blindness. It doesn’t mean that a person’s vision is lost but still it is a big problem. Here we are trying to gauge how good is your colour perception and how much clarity you have.

What is color blindness?

Color blindness or color vision deficiency means that a person is either unable to differentiate between two colors like other people or he/she is rather not able to see some colors. People who suffer from simple color blindness or at a stage where it isn't particularly severe, they don't get to know about the problem until and unless they are examined in a clinic or hospital.

Symptoms of colour blindness

In most of the cases, the symptoms of colour blindness are so little that they are not even generally noticed. However, parents can notice such symptoms in their kids if they pay proper attention.

The common symptoms of colour blindness include stress in differentiating between colours and inability to see different shades or tone of the same color.

The root cause

Color blindness is caused owing to the light-sensitive cells, which are in the retina, don’t respond in the right manner to the variations in the wavelength of light due to which a person sees different colors.

Other causes of color vision defect can be substances such as Tigabine which reduce color vision.

Treatment for it

Currently there is no treatment for color blindness but there are some ways through which we may help a person in leading life properly without letting this disease hamper their daily routine.

However, color perception can be improved with the use of special lenses which are either in the form of contact lenses or eyeglasses.

Try finding what lies in the image

There is a set of two pictures full of dots; however, in the midst of the dots, there is something hidden.

Can you give it a shot and figure out what's it.

Did you answer 7 and 16? Well, that's absolutely right! Shinobu Ishihara, an ophthalmologist from Japan, was the inventor of this test which is being used since 1917.

What's behind the blue screen?

At first this may appear to be the floor of a pool but it in fact is a challenge to check your vision. Were you able to see anything in the blue screen?

Again numbers? Yes, you are absolutely right! Number 503 is hidden in the blue rectangle but people with color deficiency won’t get it right.
