This is one of the best things you are going to see today...

Experiments And Fun!

As mentioned earlier, experiments are fun! When two chemicals react, the entire sight is soothing if you like science. Nothing, absolutely nothing in this world can develop if not for experiments to be honest!

This Experiment

This experiment is fun but please, do not by any chance even remotely try to perform this without any professional guidance! This one is about a Red Hot Ball Of Nickel. So here, a Red hot ball of nickel is placed on a block of foam. What happens next is what makes it so good.

In the case of phenol formaldehyde, however, the chain reaction spreads slowly (hence the need for a time lapse) because phenol formaldehyde already contains a significant amount of covalently bonded oxygen (i.e. already partially oxidized), so less heat is released per mole of the polymer, which significantly reduces the speed of the chain reaction.

Thermal Degradation

Another thing worth knowing here is that the byproduct of the thermal degradation of the floral foam, the black stuff you see, is char. The char serves as a sort of fire retardant, slowing the chain reaction by decreasing the amount of heat that reaches the untouched phenol formaldehyde. Too much science for the day? Well, not really. You have an amazing thing coming ahead!

The Video

Here's the video of this entire experiment that you are going to simply love. Take a look and let us know how you liked it. For us, this was definitely worth our time and monies!
