On February 8th, 1943, Nazis hung 17-year-old Lepa Radić for being a Yugoslavian Partisan during World War II.

Lepa Radić was a Yugoslav Partisan of Serb origin who was awarded the Order of the People's Hero in 1951 for her role in the resistance movement against the Axis powers in the Second World War—becoming the youngest recipient at the time. "You will know them when they arrive to revenge me," she said in response to their question about the identities of her companions.

David Isom swam at Florida’s Spa pool. Isom said he was treated like “any other citizen” by the woman who’d sold him his entry ticket and the 45 people already in the water. But in the eyes of the law, he wasn’t. David Isom was the only black face in the segregated pool for whites only.
