9 Strongest Photos From History That Changed Our Lives

History has a lot of instances that teach us life's biggest lessons - Good,bad and ugly. In fact, at some opportune times, photos that have been clicked at these historical moments teach us a lot of lessons that life perhaps hasn't. They are soul stirring and part of some of the biggest historical events in the world.

DEAD BABY!

Alan Kurdi's lifeless body floated into the beach at Kobani, Syria. The Mediterranean sea had coughed back Alan, another young child of 5 years, Alan's brother and mother's dead bodies. This image was clicked by Photojournalist Nilufer Demir on 2nd September 2015 at 6:30 AM when these bodies washed ashore. It took this image to spark a conversation about Syria and the refugee problems. Alan's family along with 16 other people were on a lifeboat that could only take about 8 people and were trying to escape the life in Syria. In a few minutes, the boat gave way and they drowned!



THE DOG WHO SAVED MUMBAI!

IN 1993, Mumbai was under a terror attack. There were bomb blasts, people died and it was one of the worst, grim years for the city that usually sparks joy and dreams. Zanjeer, a police Labrador saved thousands of lives during that blast. The dog detected more than 600 detonators, 3,329 kgs of RDX, 249 hand grenades and 6406 rounds of live ammunition. Zanjeer was buried with full police honors in 2000.

A TSUNAMI THAT TOOK HER LIFE!

On 11th march 2011, multiple earthquakes shook Tohuku. A massively, destructive Tsunami came by later that not just ravished the city completely but also its dreams. In the picture, a young lady of 29 years old, Akane Ito had gone out to buy batteries and emergency supplies after the magnitude 9 earthquake struck. She left her 10 pets behind when she left and moments later when she came back, all she saw was rubble. 2 weeks later, 2 of her dogs were reunited with her, but the others remained missing!



NAZIS AT NUREMBURG!

Hitler's Nazi regiment changed the world massively. His supporters would gather at Nuremburg regularly from 1933 till the end of the regime. In 1937, this image was clicked at one such gathering by Hitler's personal photographer. We all can see why, right?

MOMMY'S BACK!

The Iraq War changed life for most of us around the world. Those who were deployed on the field were the most affected though. Terri Gurrola, a military doctor who was deployed in Iraq, came back home after a long year. She thought her daughter would have forgotten her. After all when she had left, the child was a mere 3 years old. As she descended the flight at Atlanta, the child Gaby started crying and screaming out for Terri. "I was crying tears of joy for the fact that Gaby hadn’t forgotten me. When I finally came up for air, I saw that every single person in that airport was crying, too. Men, women – I kid you not: they were all just bawling," she said!



DON'T LEAVE ME, DADDY!

If that homecoming picture stirred, you wait for this one. This was clicked in 1940. As the father marches on with his battalion, the little boy runs behind him trying to not let go of his hand. This pain of letting your loved one go, with a chance that they may never return is scary. This child, all of 5 has learnt to feel it too!

MAN ON THE MOON!

Neil Armstrong changed history when he did his little "Moon Walk" Well how many of us can even say that we did something as massively impressive as this for the first time ever. He clicked a picture post the little stint and his face beams with radiance, doesn't it?If this is not historic, what is!!!

WWII VETERAN WAITS!

The WWII changed a lot of things for the world, but majorly for its own warriors. Belarus Konstantin Pronin was 86 when this photo was taken. A World War II veteran, he would come every year to Moscow to participate in the parade along with his team members. But on May 9th 2011, he was found sitting all by himself in Gorky Park, waiting for his team mates to turn up. But guess what, none of them ever showed up. Pronin was the only surviving member of his unit!

THE LAST SURVIVING JEW!

Holocaust is a time period all of us know about but never want to be reminded of again. Right? Many photos from that period are reflective of the inhuman Nazi crimes. This image is of a member of the elite SS Death Squad called Einsatzgruppe in the process of shooting a Jewish man. The man was made to kneel in front of mass gravers before being shot in the head. Picture was taken in Vinnitsa, Ukraine in 1941 minutes before he was killed!
