Each country has its own quirks but there are a few that are way more similar than we think. Take for instance Britain and Australia - two seperate ends of the world but still their similarities and differences will blow your mind!

WASTE BINS!

Australians do not care too much about orderliness so on their streets, especially in big cities, it is okay if your waste bins aren't properly lined. They can work around disorderliness but that is so not the case with British. They love cleanliness and their public disposal system also follows it to the "T"!

NEWSPAPERS!

Now one would wonder what would ever be different with these, right? Well its not the paper as much as the style of delivering it is. In Australia, like in America, newspapers are thrown onto the porch wrapped in plastic covers. But not the case in Britain. Your mailbox will be your newspaper holder until you come get it. If it happens to be your door, good luck with the flying flyers!

CREEPY CRAWLIES!

Lets talk about spiders. We bet so many of you are already creeped out right? Well trust us, if you are Australian, you are perhaps used to worse than just tiny small insects right? These wolf spiders of Australia can creep out any human being anywhere on the planet. Take for instance this image from Queensland where a massive wolf spider and its million babies blocked an electric metre and gave the homeowner a shock!

PAVEMENTS!

In a country with so many rules, you would naturally expect a better sense of road ethics and in general living ethics right? Well turns out Australia does not have any payment concept. So much so that the lawn area of most houses just ease into the road itself. In Britain it is the opposite though. Pavements are super serious constructs but ofcourse that also meals pavement parking is a serious issue there!

TRAIN TRACKS!

Trains are meant for riding comfortably not coming under and losing life. Well with the lack of proper crossover bridges, that is exactly what the fear is. In Australia, the concept of crossover bridges is redundant since people still use the tracks to cross. Where as in Britain it is the opposite. Crossing requires either an underground pathway or an overhead bridge!

MAILBOXES!

Unlike the freestanding red-blue mailboxes in Britain, Australia has personal individual boxes placed outside homes in their garden / proches. Easy to deliver letters and post them too, right?
