Some moments are special. A photographer need not be a great one, he just needs to be there at the right place, at the right time. This is more than enough to create a lifelong history. Take for instance these ten images. They mark such key moments from our pasts that it is surreal!

FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN TO ATTEND WHITE SCHOOL!

Ruby Nell Bridges Hall was the first African American person to attend school. She was born in 1954, a time when the Whites would mistreat the blacks. There were threats to these kids, mistreatment in school by the white kids etc. So it was best to escort the black kids to school. Ruby too was accompanied by US Marshalls all the time!



FILMING THE MGM ROAR!

We all know of the iconic production house MGM motion pictures right? Well, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc.is an American media company, involved primarily in the production and distribution of feature films and television programs. One thing common through all its work is the lion and its roar. This gigantic beastly roar is not a work of editing techniques but was an actual lion which roared!

MARILYN MONROE AND FOOTBALL!

Marilyn Monroe was a true heartthrob and there is no denying it. For instance when she went to watch this football match and was asked to inaugrate it, she proceeded to kick the ball. Only hassle, she had to do it thrice since the photographers were unable to get the right shot first time. For those in the stadium it surely was a sight to behold. The Israeli team won by 6-4 that day, but guess it was someone else that stole the show!



THE DESERT THAT BECAME TEL-AVIV!

Life was truly tricky for the Jews 1900's. So much so that to avoid suppression, they had left the cities they inhabited and come to a whole different region. This mound of desert would eventually become Tel-Aviv, the world's first Hebrew City and the biggest city in Israel. The group here is present to discuss and distribute land. They did so by presenting sea-shells.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER BECOMES AN AMERICAN CITIZEN!

This Austrian boy moved to America to make his body building career. Little did he know that he will make this country his home and fall in love here itself. He loved the country so much that he even served as the 38th Governor of California, a title he held all through from 2003 to 2011. Some love stories truly last!



THE QUEEN IN THE ARMY!

Queen Elizabeth II may be a formidable power, but it is an enigma she has built for herself through the years. When all the other royalty was keeping away from chaos during the World War II, here was the present Queen getting her hands dirty being a mechanic and military truck driver!

STATUE OF LIBERTY STILL IN FRANCE!

We all know the Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States by the French Government. However, before she went to the US, Lady Liberty was house in a Paris garden. So even though the statue was being built simultaneously, the French could still come see her head in the park and marvel at the wonders man has created!

THE BURNING MONK OF VIETNAM!

This was precisely when the war had reached a turning point. Most Americans could never even spot Vietnam in a map and here there was a monk burning on the streets. Little things shake you up the way this man did when he burnt down to ashes. Iconic and sad day for all indeed!

LAST PHOTO OF ALL THE BEATLES TOGETHER!

By August 1969, the legacy for Beatles was made. They were rolling high and had more fandom and following than any other boy band in the world. It was a crazy time and suddenly, the group decided to split. This photograph was taken on August 22nd, 1969, and is the last official photograph of ‘the fab four’ together in one room. Today over 50 years later, their legacy still stands true!

Salvador Dali and Raquel Welch!

This photograph was clicked when the ace Spanish painter Salvador Dali had finished painting his muse in 1965, American actress Raquel Welch. The painting was supposed to be a promotional work for Richard Fleischer’s Fantastic Voyage movie starring Raquel and Stephen Boyd. The painting itself was quite a controversial one - it was made on the window of National Cash Register showroom at Madison Avenue and 61st St, New York, on 9 February 1965. What a location indeed!
