Shopping we have to agree is almost everybody’s best part of life. Shopping almost has a calming effect on few and this is the reason why we call it a ‘mood changer’. Shopping has its own peril though especially while we are trying to see the stuff we have bought fits. But, we need to be very careful nowadays, specially while trying out new clothes in the trial room. Not long ago, there were reports of hidden cameras being installed in the store of a reputed brand, and it was not the first time and surely it wont be the last. However, we as responsible shoppers can avoid such mishaps and in fact catch evil-minded store owners red-handed by following certain steps. In this write up, we have listed some quick and easy tips to ensure that you never again fall into such a trap and can look through the glass.

Make use of your phones

The signal receptors in your phone would not work if there is a hidden camera planted inside a trial room.

So make sure the next time you go to a trial room to test on your new acquisitions, check the signals on your phone.

If you are able to see the signal on your cell, make a call and if the call connects then the trial room is safe for you to use. This is a tried and tested method and it will only take a couple of minutes.

Enter a trial room with your mobile phone and ensure mobile signal is present to make calls.

Try making a call inside a private room, if there is a “Hidden Camera” you cannot make calls due to interference of fiber optics during signal transfer which blocks mobile callls. Making calls without any interference is the sign of a Camera free trial room.

The two way mirror method

What we mean by a two way mirror is a glass which is literally see through on one side and is a mirror on the other side.

If the mirror is true, then there will be just a little space between the reflection of your finger and the actual finger, reflecting that all is well there.

But, if the mirror is two way, there will be no space at all. Beware of two way mirrors and report to the police if you find them in trail rooms.

Turn the lights quickly on and off

This method is quite helpful when it comes to trial room safety.

You could just be a little more certain of your safety by simply turning off the lights of the room for a few seconds.

Glance around in the room and if you are able to catch any red or green LED-like lights, then they are most likely to be those of a camera placed by the store owner or staff who forgot to cover the signalling power-on lights with some obstruction to avoid detection.

Cameraphones can be useful too

One of the best as well as the one involving least amount of effort is the one wherein we can make use of our smartphone. Its pretty similar to the way we click selfies just to make sure the outfit we are trying to buy fits in perfectly.

Turning the camera of your phone on and looking around through it can help you sight any infrared beams from night-vision cameras. This is one of the quickest methods.

Check for the unnecessary things in the room

No sooner you enter a trial room, you must look everywhere and see if anything seems a wee bit too out of place and which shouldn't be in a trial room.

If you find showpieces or other unwanted objects in the room, it is most likely that they will bugged with a hidden camera.

So, until the next time you enter a trial room, make sure there is no hidden camera in there
